Red Kitchen Cabinets

We wanted something fun and to use a color we normally wouldn't.  RED was it!  We chose Cherry Cobbler S-G140 by Behr®.  Around the top we added bead board and colored it Japanese Fern 400B-6 also by Behr®.  We felt the two made a wonderful contrast; a little more exciting on the eyes.  Using Bear Rug S-G-790, we glazed them adding a more worn and older appearance.  In this picture the start of our wine cork border has begun and the tin ceiling is up.

Above is the before...during our painting prep.  The old light fixture still hangs and we haven't added the tin back splash.  Coffee pot stays! YAY caffeine!!

We feel the red cabinets make the black fixtures pop and who doesn't need their eyes to POP first thing in the morning?

Stay tuned as I post transformations of our ceiling, back splash, light fixture (which we have used a wine rack with hanging wine bottles!!!), and new floor.
